About this practice: nidra is an ancient type of meditation and has recently gained a lot of credibility in the medical community. Nidra translates to “sleep”. Try practicing it while laying flat on your back before going to sleep. Follow along to the instructions and try to stay awake the first time you practice, but let yourself drop into a relaxation state. It has been researched and shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve sleep patterns and even effectively treat PTSD.
As a certified nidra facilitator, I have tailored the practice specifically for the fire and emergency services. If you have questions about it, or would like to share your experiences with me please contact me: 720-347-0269 or firstrespondersleeprecovery@gmail.com.
